“The Jesuit Conference of South Asia (JCSA).”
The Jesuit Conference of South Asia (JCSA) is currently holding its annual meeting in the “City of Joy,” Kolkata. The gathering is being hosted at the scenic campus of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK), located in New Town.
The annual meeting brings together Provincials and key leaders from across the South Asian Assistancy. The assembly serves as an important moment of prayerful discernment, reflection, and strategic planning as the Society of Jesus seeks to respond more effectively to the needs and challenges of this diverse and vibrant region.
Among those attending is Fr. Angelo Sujeewa Pathirana, SJ, Provincial of Sri Lanka, who joins fellow Provincials in deliberating on the future directions of the Jesuit mission. The meeting provides a valuable opportunity for collaboration, mutual support, and renewed commitment to the shared apostolic vision of the Society in South Asia.
The sessions are expected to focus on strengthening ministries, fostering regional cooperation, and deepening the Jesuit response to social, educational, and pastoral realities across the Assistancy.
